Getting to Know Nakodar
Nakodar is a city in Jalandhar District, Punjab, sitting in the fertile Doaba region between the rivers Beas and Sutlej. With a population of approximately 100,000, it is a vibrant Punjabi city with a strong cultural identity shaped by its history of trade, agriculture, and spiritual heritage. Its most famous landmark, known internationally, is Dera Baba Murad Shah Ji.

- Auto-rickshaws: The primary local transport. Available throughout the city, including from the railway station to the darbaar (~10 mins).

Food and Eating
Nakodar has excellent Punjabi food. The city's dhabas (roadside restaurants) serve authentic dal makhani, sarson da saag, makke di roti, and fresh lassi. Near the darbaar, several small eateries cater to pilgrims.
Remember that the darbaar langar serves free meals throughout the day — receiving langar is considered a blessing, not charity, and all visitors are warmly encouraged to participate.
